Methodology and Approach
EMO provides a variety of energy audit and building assessment services to assist building owners and developers in reducing their energy consumption and their greenhouse gas emissions related to site and source energy consumption. EMO can offer Preliminary (ASHRAE level I) or comprehensive (ASHRAE level II or III) levels of energy audits tailored specifically to the client’s needs, building type & size, and program. The result is a comprehensive bundled list of energy conservation measures (ECMs) that meet the goals of each project. The goal is to improve building comfort and optimize the cost-effectiveness of the energy upgrade package using a distinct three step process
1. Minimize Building Loads: reduce the requirements of the lighting and mechanical systems
2. Improve System Effectiveness provide the most energy efficient central plant equipment to meet the new loads
3. Optimize Resource Delivery investigate on-site renewables, heat recovery, cogeneration, or other methods to reduce purchased energy
