EMO performed an energy audit of the Baltimore Ronald McDonald House, a short-term residence and care facility for families dealing with children cancer patients. The audit was part of a program sponsored by the Clean Energy Partnership and all upgrades were donated, or paid for through donations.
EMO identified 12 Energy Conservation Measures (ECM), including lighting, hot water, window enhancements, and HVAC repairs, that saves almost $10,000 per year with an initial projected investment of $36,500, for a 3.7 year payback. In reality, many of the recommended measures were donated or provided through volunteer support so that RMH did not have to sacrifice funding of its mission in helping cancer patients.
- Pro-bono service for non-profit organization
- Identified savings of over $10,000 per year
- Direct savings of well over 45,000 kWh of electricity and over 3,000 therms of natural gas per year.
- Implemented measures will prevent emissions of over 50 metric tons of CO2 equivalent.
