Akridge, Real Estate has contracted Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) and likewise Girard Engineering (GE) for design of the new 700 Sixth Street Office Complex in Washington, D.C. This building is designed as a sixteen-story office building with four floors below grade and a rooftop mechanical penthouse. The building is designed as ‘Core and Shell’ with basic infrastructural facilities where it is left flexible for commercial interior improvements by a tenant user.
